Getting Started

How to Create an Account

1. Open the app and tap Get Started.
2. Enter your email address and create a password (minimum 8 characters).
3. Confirm your password and check the box to agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy.
4. Tap Create Account — you'll receive a verification email immediately.
5. Open the email and click the verification link.
6. Return to the app — it checks for verification automatically, or tap I've Verified My Email.
7. Complete your profile with your name, company, and job title.

Linking to Your Audience Database Profile

After verifying your email, the app automatically checks whether your email is in the Parking Today member database. If a match is found:

• Your name, company, and job title will be pre-filled automatically.
• Your profile will show a Verified Member badge.
• Tap Confirm & Continue to complete registration with your existing information.

If no match is found, enter your information manually and tap Complete Registration. No action is required on your part — the check happens automatically in the background.

Email Verification Issues

• Check your spam/junk folder — verification emails sometimes land there.
• Resend the email — on the verification screen, tap the Resend link (available after 60 seconds).
• The app auto-checks every 15 seconds — once verified, it continues automatically.
• Make sure you have an active internet connection.
• If still having trouble, sign out, sign back in, and request a new verification email.

Event Features

How to Scan QR Codes for Networking

The Connect & Win feature lets you network with other attendees and earn raffle entries.

1. Tap the Connect tab and then Scan QR Code.
2. Point your camera at another attendee's QR code or the barcode on their event badge.
3. The app validates the connection and displays a digital business card.
4. Optionally, add a note about the person.
5. Both you and the other person earn 1 raffle entry per connection.

Booking Meeting Rooms

1. Navigate to the Meeting Rooms section.
2. Select a room from the list.
3. View available time slots for that room.
4. Tap a time slot to select your start time.
5. Choose a duration (30 min, 1 hr, 1.5 hr, and up, based on availability).
6. Tap Confirm Booking to finalize.
7. You'll receive a confirmation with the room name, start time, and duration.

Using the Floor Map

The app includes two types of maps:

Expo Floor Map

Shows the full event floor layout. Pan and zoom to explore the venue. Requires an internet connection to load.

Session Rooms Map

An interactive map of conference breakout rooms.

• Pinch to zoom and pan around the map.
• Tap a room to see that room's session schedule.
• Tap the Rooms button to toggle a legend of all rooms by section.
• Tap Reset to return to the default zoom level.

Adding Sessions to Your Schedule

1. Go to the Schedule tab.
2. Filter by day, room, track, or use the search bar.
3. Tap a session to view full details (speaker, location, time, description).
4. Tap the star icon to bookmark the session.
5. View all bookmarked sessions in the Saved tab.

Account Settings

How to Delete Your Account

To delete your account:

1. Open the app and go to the Profile tab.
2. Tap App Information.
3. Scroll down and tap Delete Account.
4. Before proceeding, you'll see information about what will be deleted:
   • Your profile will be permanently deleted
   • All bookmarked sessions will be removed
   • Your event registrations will be cancelled
   • All connections will be deleted
5. Optional but recommended: Tap Export My Data to request a copy of your data. You'll receive instructions to contact [email protected] with "Data Export Request" in the subject line. We will send you a complete copy of your data within 30 days.
6. In the text field, type DELETE (all caps) to confirm.
7. Tap the Delete My Account button.
8. A final confirmation alert will appear with these options:
   • Cancel — Stop the deletion process
   • Export Data First — Go back and export your data before deleting
   • Delete My Account — Continue with deletion
9. For security, you'll be asked to enter your password to confirm.
10. After entering your password and confirming, your account will be permanently deleted.
11. You'll be signed out automatically and returned to the welcome screen.

Common Issues

QR Code Won't Scan

• Camera permission required — if previously denied, go to Settings → Apps → Parking Today → Permissions → Camera and enable it.
• Wrong code type — only valid Parking Today QR codes and event badge barcodes are accepted.
• Scanning your own code — you cannot connect with yourself.
• Already connected — each pair of attendees can only connect once per event.
• Cooldown period — after a successful scan, wait 20 seconds before scanning again (see below).
• Lighting — make sure the QR code is well-lit and hold the camera steady.

Push Notifications Not Working

• Check device permissions — go to Settings → Notifications → Parking Today and ensure notifications are enabled.
• Check in-app settings — go to Profile → Notifications and confirm notifications are turned on.
• If notifications were recently enabled, restart the app to register your device.

Connection Cooldown Period

Profile Matching Questions

The app does not use an automatic matching algorithm. Networking is direct and intentional — you choose who to connect with by scanning their QR code or badge.

To discover other attendees:

• Browse the Attendee List (searchable by name, title, or company).
• Check the Leaderboard to see who is making the most connections.
• Your name, company, and job title are visible to attendees you connect with.
